Check again that everything is in time. Set the engine to TDC1 and take the distributor cap off, make sure the rotor points to wire #1. The spark plugs are hooked up 1-3-4-2 as the distributor rotates clockwise looking at the cap. \

Has the car been sitting around for a while not running? If the gas in the tank is like a year old, it is likely stale, and Civic engines don't like stale gas. Drain it and put some fresh gas in. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the tank.

Check whether the distributor is getting battery voltage with the key turned to ON(II). If so, check the coil in the distributor. AutoZone can check it or you can with a multimeter. What year Civic?

Is the CEL ON?

If there is power at the distributor connector, here's how to test the coil:

yes the cell is on, i have no clue if its for more than just this but its been on because i dont have a secondary oxygen sensor hooked up (i cant get the plug out of the body) and the diagram would be very helpful if i had a meter :s

You can also take the coil to AutoZone for testing.

The meters are only about $15 at hardware stores or even autozone. Definitely a solid investment.

This may sound so simple its ridiculous, but have you attempted to jump start the car? I know that after my y8>z6 swap, I could see that I was getting some spark, but ended up realizing that it wasn't "enough" spark to actually kick the motor over.

Its worth a shot, K.I.S.S.
