NEED HELP ASAP... can you move the civic without axles in it?
well im off tomorow and i wanna pull the motor ONLY PROBLEM IS... i cannt keep this civic in the shop and using the tractor to pick up the front end might be a very bad idea...
IM WONDERING CAN YOU MOVE A 94CIVIC WITHOUT THE ENGINE/TRANS AND AXLES OUT?
WITHOUT MESSING UP ANYTHING ELSE?
ALSO CAN I REMOVE THE AXLES WITHOUT PULLING THE DRIVEAXLE NUT ON THE ROTORS?
i know my old 86crx people said i couldnt move the car with the axles pulled or it would trash the bearings.
im curious if it was still a problem on the 94civic?
i realy wanna pull the motor and tranny TOMOROW but my dad will definatly freak out if i keep the civic inside the shop for awhile cause i still dont have a motor yet.... but i am looking for one still!
so PLEASE can anyone answer those 2 questons?

I would leave the axles attached to the hubs, hang them from the motor mounts with some wire and you can roll the car a short distance no problem. It is true that if you roll the front wheels with the axles out of the hubs, the bearings may come lose.

I'm not sure if you're going to be able to get the axles off without taking the spindle nut off... i mean you could try it, but in my mind i would rather just take that off, and then pull it out of the engine and then put it back on the wheels and chicken wire it to the motor mounts like mk said for rolling

To remove the engine, don't remove the axle nut at all, just undo the lower ball joints and you can swing the wheels out enough to pull the axles out of the transmission. Then you can remove the engine/transmission assembly. Put the ball joints back together and tie up the axles, shifter, exhaust, etc. and the car is ready to push out of the garage with no engine.
