Hello...new to this forum...but have had my Honda civic since 1995...it's a 1993 Civic Cx ...and am looking for a new engine for my car. The body/interior/etc. is all good and want to keep my car. Love it very much, and am very sad. Tried to change the timing belt and part of the engine block broke off. Anyone know where I can get a reliable used Honda Civic 1993 engine in the South florida area? Even in Western florida? Am willing to go get it if need be. Really want to save my car and hoping that all your other Honda lovers know where I am coming from and give me a glimmer of hope on where to pick up a good honest used Civic engine. Thanks..and enjoy your Honda...I wish I could right now!

 

I have to see pictures of that. You're the first person I've seen here to break the engine block during a timing belt change.

Is it the 8 valve D15B8? Might be hard to find (and not really worth looking for since the common D15B7 16-valve is better and will bolt in). You could use a D16Y7 out of a 1996-2000 as well. All the D15 and D16 engines mount up basically the same.

Do you have any recommendation on where to obtain a good, used honda engine in the state of Florida, preferably South Florida?

Or could you recommend someone to speak to that may know?
