ORIGINAL: Marty

It keeps your timing belt tight which in turn spins your water pump. just try it though, start your car and let it warm up, then go out and drive in 3rd gear at 3500ish rpm's for about 3/4 miles. Worth a try to trouble shoot a little. Unless you have allready done this. Good luck man.
yea i did that in upstate ny yesterday, didnt overheat, only does it when i exceed 70-75mph for about 3 min

what are the possiblities of it being a faulty gauge, i doubt this has something 2 do with it but my speedo gauge acts stupid also, sometimes itll stop working in the rain

Well the coolant temp gauges are what I like to call a "dumby gauge" anyway because they are semi accurate but not like a good aftermarket one. Like the stock oil pressure lights dont come on untill under like 4psi and if your tripping a 4 psi oil light it is too late anyways.

Did you ever change the coolant temp sensor or bleed the system?

If not, do both and see where that gets you

And stop making new threads for the same problem. Makes it really hard to keep track of what people have already told you, what you have/haven't done, etc..
