Default My 95 civic is putting bad...

I have a 95 honda civic coupe ex d16z6 sohc. A few months ago driving home from work it started to putt bad. (kinda around 3rd gear) seems like its maybe not getting enough fuel or something. Changed the fuel fillter and cleaned the injectors and added gas cleaner. Still........ nothing! it'll start up fine and idle good. (but the sound of my rev my muffler makes isnt the same sound it made before this problem) i can drive it around close to my house, but it'll start putting and jerking then be fine. then go a little further then a putt here and there. I'll even be driving say 35mph and all power shuts off and im cruzin with nothing. i'll pull to the side and start it up again. I so lost. Please help me.

Check the spark plug wires for any that are loose (not plugged in fully). Also check for disconnected or cut vacuum tubing.

Any ECU codes?

Like the other guy said, misfiring under load sounds like an ignition problem: spark wires, plugs, cap, rotor. Especially the wires are the most fragile part of the system. Stalling completely could be the ICM or the ignition switch. Next time it stalls before you try to restart make note of whether the oil and battery lights on the dash come on.

i had the same problem man... but it was an electrical issue... my whole distributor had to be changed because it failed on the road and would crank the engine over again.. i thought it was the fuel pump because the car shut off while driving but it was the distributor... check the voltage on it or have it checked if anything you can get one at pick-n-pull or whatever junk yard have civics for 50$ instead of buying a new one for 200.. but check first =] bought a pump and didnt even need it =/
