Default motor swap

will a d15 non vtec motor out of a 92 civic hatchback fit into my 95 civic ex it has a d16z6 vtec motor the motor in my civic went to ****. basically im asking if a d15 motor will fit my 95 civic ex and bolt up to the tranny and my exhuast manifold. and is smogable in california LET ME KNOW ASAP
also will the d15 motor bolt up to my tranny its an automatic, and will it match the motor mounts, im really needing to know asap so i can get a motor.

Yes it will fit, exact bolt in. You need to use your automatic type starter and swap the flex plate onto to the new engine if it was in a manual car before. You can keep your EX ECU but it will throw the VTEC code if you ever try to rev above 5500 rpm since there is no VTEC. Or swap to an automatic DX / LX ECU (exact plug in) and now you have a fully DX.

I don't know about California rules. It is from the same generation of car, seems like it should be legal but they are real strict.

this guy is selling the whole motor with his ecu. his is a manual mine is a automatic, so what would i have to do? use his ecu along with his engine?
