Have an 09honda civic, took it in for brakes with 29000mi. On odometer, picked up car when done it had 47000mi on odemeter. I know mechanic didn't put over 17000 mi test driving it . Must be some sort of electrical problem. Has anyone experienced this sort of problem.

 

I would take that one straight to the dealership and ask them. With it being so new, surely there's some sort of warranty on it?

 

Yeah I'd take it back and tell them. Too, any sort of odometer tampering is illegal under federal law. I don't know if there an exception to that, like for a situation like yours, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Your best off just telling the dealer about it, since it obviously happened while the car was in their possesion.
