Default Maintenence light went from green to orange

What does that mean? Its a 99 prelude with 71000 miles on it. My bro said the next check up is 75000 miles but it seems a little far from now for it to turn orange. Problems is I dont know what that means. Is it just a warning like does it go green orange red? Or does it mean to go get it checked out now?I feel stupid for asking this. For the civic it was easy it just showed a wrench light. Will it do it for this car too? I know this is a civic forums but I was hoping maybe someone has owned a prelude or knows about that.

If a Prelude is like a Civic, then it's just a friendly reminder that you will soon need to do an oil change. It will turn from orange to red when it has been 7,500 mi since the last oil change. When you finish with upcoming oil change, simply use your key to press the reset button on the gauge assembly window and the indicator will change back to green.

Oh yeah that was what it was for the civic when the wrench came on. Makes sense. But should I take in the car for a check up anyways? Just to make sure everything is working fine? I mean the car runs great just dont wanna mess this car up. Cause my old hyundai accent died at 86,000 miles and I just said screw it.

Check your Owner's Manual, if you have one or can get one.

that indicator works the same way as your trip odometer. if you did an oil change and never reset it, it will still show orange after the change. use your key and push in the little rectangular plug on your gauge cluster, it will reset it back to green. that indicator isn't powered in anyway, it only knows how far you drove since you last pushed it.

Ha! I've always wondered what that meant and how to reset it.
