Low Fuel Indicator Light

Low Fuel Indicator Light
Hey guys, recently I have been curious to see if my low fuel light works in my '00 ex. I wanted to make sure that it did/didn't work before I went on the trip I'm taking this weekend. So I left work with less than 1/4 tank of gas and drove for about another hour and a half and I was to about 370 miles on the trip odometer. I finally got nervous and didn't want to leave myself no gas incase I got called for jury duty the next day, so I went and filled up and I ended up putting 10.9 gallons in my 12 gallon tank... Does anyone know at what point the light is supposed to come on? The manual just says that it comes on "when you need to fuel up soon" which isnt very helpful lol. I know new cars usually tell you when the light comes on with like 2 gallons left, but since mine didn't come on and I only had a gallon left, I am thinking it doesn't work. Any ideas?? Thanks a lot!

RE: Low Fuel Indicator Light
Well, I tried it once again, let the tank get down as low as I could. In fact, it was to the point where the car would turn over way more than usual before it started so i gave up and went to the gas station. I put 11.4 gallons in so that left me with roughly half a gallon left, so I'm pretty sure the light in my car doesn't work... Oh well, at least I know now so I know not to let it get past a certain point on the trip odometer. Thanks for all the help anyway guys.

well one way to find out for sure is to fill a jerry can and throw it in yer trunk then go for a drive...if the car stalls out before the light comes on you know it doesn't work :P
