Default low compression

Hello..

I have a1992 Honda Civic DX with 150K...recently while on the interstate the car started losing power but still ran ok to get home...I took it to a local mech...and he said the distributor was bad...so I replaced it and it still runs rough..low power from stop..up hills...rough idle...It has been using about a quart every 2 weeks or so (500 miles)...It doesn't smoke..or drip..but below the valve cover and distributor has oil on it...he mech did a compression test and #1 cylinder was low..Rings or valve seal???..Anything else??..

Squirt engine oil and do the compression check again on low reading cylinder. If the number improves, it is likely your rings and/or cylinder bore are bad. Number don't change? You have issues with valves.
