Hey guys,I got a 91 civic std tranny. I am getting a whistle which sounds like its coming from the right side of the engine and it starts at around 3,000 RPM and stops at around 5,000 RPM. I think it may be the tranny. Any suggestions?

 

its probly the intake whisle ...not sure tho

 

Pop open your air box, remove the filter, and clean out all the sand and other debris inside. My car did the exact same thing when I first bought it, and this cleared it right up.

 

Its more of a sound an actual wistle makes, and I have a cold air on it. And I just cleaned it

 

well from what i have heard cold air intakes are going to make a sound. the whistleing sound couuld just be your CAI

 

+1 for it being the intake. Every intake i've installed or heard right after install have made some sort of whistle sound

 

Alright, just was concerned about the high sound of it, you can really hear it inside or outside the car even if you were far away its really loud.

 

Yeah. Well did you get the intake from ebay? and are you sure its a cold air intake?

 

i like that whistle lol it kinda makes it sound like a turbo

 

oh but ya i have a throttle body spacer and a aem sri and it sounds loud but i dont mind it
