my 05 civic has an auto window feature where if you just click the power window button when its fully closed, it will automatically open up all the way.

the problem is when i use this feature, it makes a really loud creaking noise, like something is getting jammed. some times it doesn't even open all the way.

when i press the button manually to open the window all the way, no noise is made and its just fine. it seems like something in the mechanics to auto-open is jammed up.

has anyone had this problem? how much did it cost to fix it?

 

If it were a mechanical problem, then I'd expect you to hear the noise whether or not you use the auto function. This leads me to suspect a window motor problem.

 

i opened up the door panel, and pinpointed the problem noise to the switch.

i uploaded a video to give you guys a better idea of what im talking about. any ideas?
