yano what its like its got no power from 4000 rpm now! an when im crusin at 60 to 70 mph with bout 3000 rpms up soon as i take foot off the gas it feels like the car is engine braking alot more than normal??

what temp were u at were u low on oil???? v tec dont kick in till normal engine temp and oil level is good.... or maybe ur vtec silanoid is going out.... andur car is obd2 so it easier to plug it in and read the problem.... or your cap and rotor so id take em off and clean em', or ur dizzy or maybe the internal coil???? take it out and get it checked.... good luck

 

Oil level is fine... engine is a b16a2 so is this easy to check whats wrong with it? iv found the ecu just need to know which terminals i need to put a paper clip in to get the problem code.
iv been underneath the car cant find anythin wrong but when im drivin it an soon as the vtec kicks in this strange rattle blowin sound comes...... iv took a picy of my ecu gonna add it so someone can tell me wer to stick paper clip...

Theres a way to pull the codes yourself with a paperclip. Should be a lil plug under the pass side glove compartment. Might have to take a plastic kick panel off. You can read your code by watching the CEL flash. Theres a faq or something somewhere.

On my car it was a lil yellow piece stuck in a blue rubber thing. It didnt connect to anything.

 

i have looked at the ecu but cant find anythin like that all the connections go into the ecu at the back. ill have another look thanks

 

Right i found the blue connector there was 2 blue connectors 1 connector had 2 wires one had 3 wires so i tried the one with 2 wires...... Lights all flashed as u said they would but there wasnt any long flashes only short ones an that just carried on and on? so i couldnt read the code of it?? anyone heard of it doing this before?

 

u mean like a bunch of single short blinks? maybe its throwing #1 over and over???? if not then explain once again in as muchdetail as possible what u were doing what it sounded like what it felt like and ill see what i can do....

 

yes it was throwin a number 1 over an over again? an the car doesnt seem to hold the code soon as i turn ignition off an come back to it the code has gone an the light is just on all the time (when the paper clip is in) Also the car wont rev upto the limitor? when im drivin say down the highway soon as i put my foot down the noise starts an when i go over a bump while foot on the gas it goes worse as if something is either loose or splitting. I might just have to take it to the garage an see if they can tell whats up with it. its driving me mad! havent had any problems with it till now thou which is good i suppose. its ok when its something you know what it is. i just hope im not making it worse. thanks for your help

 

What would make you lose power make a wierd noise when hard on gas like something is leaking out, gets worse over bumpy ground? noise is coming from behind dash in engine bay. its a kind off rattle gritty sound very hard to explain! if anyone has any idea tell me an ill check it out.......................
