Knocking in 99' Civic Cant figure it out.
Hello. Hopefully I can get some help here. About two weeks ago whenever I make a left turn, there is a "knocking" coming from what seems to be the back right side (wheel area?) of the car.It stops as soon as I complete the turn. I had it over to a local place to look at and they said they checked the emergency break cable which needed adjustment. It seem to stop, but started up again later that day. Its only when I make a left turn. Any ideas what may be causing this? Thanks for your help.

Jack up that wheel (don't remove the wheel, just lift it off the ground) and see if you can wobble it from side to side.
It is also often helpful to have someone standing outside and drive past them so they can listen and try to better locate where the sound is coming from.

Well I broke down and took it to Honda. They said it was the rear breaks. The break shoes needed to be replaced and the drums needed to be resurfaced. So no more noise. I never would have thought it was the breaks due to the fact that I was never breaking when it made the noise. But what do I know. [&:]
