Your one-sentence description of the problem suggests that the engine is misfiring due to weak sparks. That is a common thing caused by worn plugs, cap, rotor, or wires (if equipped). A car with weak sparks will suddenly lose power and shake when you press the gas past a certain point in a high gear (low rpm). If you press the gas only lightly, or use lower gears so the engine revs up, it drives normally.
Bad CV joints usually make noise, especially when turning, but don't make the car lose power or shake. Until of course they ultimately break, then the car won't go anywhere.
You can inspect the CV joints first. That is not a part that you have to replace going only on faith in someone who hasn't even seen your car.
