Default Instrument Cluster Light Too Dim

I have 97 Civic EX AT, bought a couple of years ago used.
and I find thespeedometer and tachometerlights too dim at night.
I was just wondering if this is normally not bright or if I should replace the bulbs on the instrument cluster.
Well, it's still pretty clearly visible at night but I'd like to have it brighter.
Or, if it's normally that dim, I'd just leave it alone.

Any thoughts?

Or, you can always buy superbright LEDs : http://superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

Get #74 bulbs w/bases

Man...this is what I just needed!! Thanks!!

But it looks very complicated...and I'm afraid I might screw up doing it.
I do a lot of DIY's but this seems to be by far the most challenging compared to what I'd done!

I'd love to give it a shot though.

well if you just replace the bulbs like danomatic93 but buy the best bulbs you can.... they have wider light pattern...

or just put the flexstrips on the gauge you want brighter

Did you check the dimmer switch (located beside the cruise on/off button on the left side of the dash below the air vent).

[blockquote]theyre not usually so dim, i have a 97 as well and i find its bright enough to see it clearly and doesnt bother the eyes, but sometimes some of the bulbs dont light up and i have to smack the dash for them too xD probably loose wiring or something..

Yes, my dimmer switch is set to full brightness and they always have been.

I managed to replace all bulbs on the dash (heater, A/C control area). Kinda had to take the whole thing apart and put the brighter bulbs in. They're good now but just the instrument clusters...
Although I find them OK, (never had any problems at night) but just want them brighter.
Well, maybe it's not a good idea getting them too bright at night. I gotta think harder before I mess up. argh.[:@]
