Default Installing a new CD Deck

I feel stupid for asking this because verywhere i read it says just pull but I've been pulling and i can't seem to get out the radio that's already there. I have a 2000 Civic SE. If any one could just reconfirm what i need to do that would be great. Thanks.

Make sure you take out the 2 screws on the bottom of the whole unti located kinda by the ac plug in. Then you should be able to pull the whole unit out temperture controls and everyting as one unit. It is held in by little clams that could give you some trouble. Just wiggle it around and try to pop those clamps free as you go. Then you should be able to take out the stock radio from there and do all of you wiring.

You can save your self 20 dollars if you know a little about wiring. Its actually kind of like a motor swap. You take the harness from the stock headunit An splice it in half. You dont need the end that connects to the stock head but use the other end that connects to the harness that goes to the power, speakers, ect. That is basically you wire adapter. All Wire adapters are are basically the same thing you have now. Now its just a matter of connecting all of your power, antenneas, grounding, acc, and all that other good stuff to the harness for the aftermarket head unti and your stock harness/ wire harness adapter that you just fabricated. To make everything even easier, all the wire colors should match.

Another suggestion is when your doing this, its so copper speaker wire or some sort of premium speaker wire and rewire your car. All you have to do is organize your wires to your speaker location (mark the ends of the wires or color code or something, just make sure that you know which wire is for which speaker ie mark the back left on so you connect it to the right wires on the harness), then just wire them directly to the harness that comes with your head unit. All thats left is hinding you wires and you have a nice little sytems. The only thing left is just a amp for your speakers and your set, unless you want a sub then your really going to be set.

I used a wire adapter so I can throw in the stock radio when I get rid of the car.

Yep, I would use an adapter also. Its just common sense, that way you dont have to worry about polarity issues and as GWL said when you sell the car you can put in your factory radio and have no issues at all...
