Default Important! Battery fuse

I currently have a 100a fuse for the battery but the rating on the fuse panel says 80a recommended. Someone told me that it's dangerous because if something's wrong the fuse won't burn out and instead cause a fire. Other person's that do actual mechanic work says it's fine. Two people who say it's bad to have the 100a do actual electronics but the mechanics have some electrical background. Don't know what to believe though I would think it's safer to go with what Honda recommends. Can someone tell me if there really is a danger of having the 100a and what problems could it contribute to? For example....too much power going to other stuff such as windows and maybe burning out the motor faster? Thanks in advance for your help.

I think a good mechanic or electrician would give you the same advice: Go with the recommended 80A fuse because this ensures the best protection of electrical components on the circuit.

Unfortunately, changing to the proper fuse is unlikely to fix the window problem. Still, it never hurts to hope!
