unstable idle is a lot of the time this problem. when you push on the brakes does it stop? if so the leak is within the brake booster line. if not then check other vacuum sources. maybe one of the lines fell off and what not.

it sounds to me like it is a little too complicated... unfortunately I say take it to a reputable mechanic who can test your ecu, look at your vacuum lines, and do the basic diagnostics... it is either do that of take your engine apart piece by piece looking for the problem... IMO

Ok, i took it to a mechanic shop today and the guy said its the IAC valve. And the part alone costs about 240$ then add labor making it around 300$. What does everyone think about that? Is the IAC fixable? or should I just buy a new IAC and then put it on myself? Now i'm frustrated!

If you can always manually push the throttle down under the hoodand it slows down, it's not the IAC. One of the cables or the throttle body itself is sticky or a cable is misadjusted.
