Default Idling problem...

Today I got off the highway after about a half hour going about 70mph and stopped at a redlight and noticed that my car was idling very strangly. It was pulsating between around 1300 to 1600rpm very quickly. I reved it up a few times and let it go back to idle and the pulsating continued. I turned off the car and restarted it and the problem went away and the car idled normally (around 8-900rpm), as I continued driving the problem happened again... I don't know what is going on, this is the first time this has ever happend to my car... anyone know what's happening???

Nope, the AC wasn't on, not even the fan was on. This isn't just a problem of a higher idle than normal, the engine is pulsating as if I were repeatedly taping on the gas.

Bump... car is still doing it. I noticed that if the lights are off it will only do it for a few seconds then slowly go back down to normal idle, could it be electrical??? This problem came out of nowhere and it's really got me stumped, please help...

Could also be air in the coolant system. Bleeding that only takes a minute, id give it a shot.

ya i would def check the idle air controller. mine did the same thing, i heard that if u take off the IACV and clean it with carb cleaner or i even heard simple green cleaner will work on it gets rid of alot of build up inside. make sure its completely dry though before u put it back on i used an air hose from work and blew the crap outa it
