I don't know how you can blow an O2 sensor by overevving the engine but anyway an O2 sensor is about $60-$100 i think. I dunno how good you are with cars, but it isn't too hard to change. You need an a wrench (you can find an O2 sensor socket). You take out the old O2 sensor (unbolt it from the exhaust) and disconnect the connector. Then you bolt the new O2 sensor in and reconnect the connector. I haven't taken too many O2 sensors out, but there is an engine in our shop (4 cylinder mitsu) and we always play with the O2 sensor (take it out and put it in) so i've done that a couple of times.

This is REAL easy, get an adjustable wrench (or if you have a 22 or 23(?)mm wrench that will work too) not totally sure about the mm size so stick with the adjustable wrench, unplug it frist as this will allow the wiring to twist freely as you are unscrewing the O2 sensor. If you get an universal O2 sensor (like Bosch) you will need to splice some wires, no biggie, black to black, grey to grey, and then there are 2 whites hook them up, (with the whites it doesnt matter how you hook them up). Screw the new O2 in and plug it back up. and your done.
