Question Hydrolocked?!?!?!

hi everybody.
I have a 1995 civic hatch (D15B7). have a cold air intake (doesn't help my situation), i drove through a pretty deep puddle on my way home from work after a huge storm (didn't look so bad at first... in hindsight) made it most of the way through then engine died on me, tried to start a few times... won't start, even a day after (and dry) did a little research and assume that it is hydrolocked..... please tell me this is fixable, and if so, it is DIY... i would like to engine swap, but not under these circumstances (financially can't afford it yet either)

please help, instructions with pictures would be FANTASTIC!!!

thanks in advance!!!!!

Pull out all four spark plugs and look into the cylinders. Do you see any water? If so, aspirate the water out of each cylinder. It will help to turn each cylinder to TDC to get all the water out.

Pull off the air intake. Is the air filter soaked in water? If so, dry out the air intake and replace the soaked filter. Does the IM have water in it. If so, dry it out.

When done, check the cylinder compression and for spark and fuel.

Do what Ron said. Also after you disconnect the CAI system off at the throttle body, just leave it off while you're trying to get it started. It will run without it. Make sure there is no water in the filter and pipes before reconnecting.

The compression test will show if you have internal engine damage.

Take the distributor cap off and check for water in there. The distributor will need to be dried out thoroughly if that's the case.

Also if it was really deep water (one man's "deep puddle" is another man's "flood"), there could be water in the oil and the transmission fluid. Those will need to be changed immediately to avoid further damage.

you sure its the block and not just the head gasket? Both can belch out coolant.

Sorry to hear about your car. I really don't understand why people use those cold air intakes!
