Making valve clearance adjustments on an engine other than completely cold (best overnight) could defeat the entire purpose of the exercise.

well, come to find out my valve adjustment was done after it had been driven for 30 min and parked for max of 2 hours. tech said theres not much difference in doing it on cold or warm engine, but maybe this explains shake at idle?

yeah. get a new tech. it should be stone cold. youre setting the clearence on them to within a couple thousanths of an inch, and it doesnt take much heat at all to expand the metal enough to throw you out of that range.

i brought it back to be readjusted in the morning. its currently sitting in their parking lot. would the little drive from parking spot to garage matter?
