At my high school we have a machine that pumps the refrigerant out and pumps it in. Maybe you wanna try and find a place that has one.

iv seen little kits that you can buy at stores, but i dont know how well they would work. you are suppost to pull a vacuum before you recharge it at the shop. so you might as well get it done there. also. your freon shouldnt just disapear, it should last forever. it must have a leak, so recharging would only be temperary.if its suppost to run on the old 134 freon, then you cant recharge it. you will have to convert it over to 134a, i think its called.

If im not mistaken, the only refrigerant that was/is used in cars is R-12 and R-134a. R-12 isn't made anymore but if you find some you can put it in your car. Its like $60 a lb.

A 94 model should have the newer refrigerant in it. If you can find some in a kit, you also need the hookup to the can and the A/C system in your civic.
I've done it before on other cars, and you just add the refrigerant if you have a slow leak. By law, you shouldn't do it anymore since you're supposed to have a shop find the leak before refilling.
Some shops will just top it up if they know it's a slow leak, even though they're not supposed to.
