How do you remove stock CD Player
Hey there Civic fans,
I have a 1999 Honda Civic coupe, all stock. I am getting ready to purchase a "bass package" as I would call it. I'm planning on hooking it up bymyself, seems pretty straight forward.
My question is, how do I remove the stock cd player. I heard of using DIN tools and/or removing the central front panel. Here is the list of what I'm getting:
cd/reciever - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7N2CwJm...;s=0&cc=01
amp - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7N2CwJm...;s=0&cc=01
subs - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7N2CwJm...;s=0&cc=01
amp wiring kit - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7N2CwJm...;s=0&cc=01
It's not the top of the line system, but I'm a 17 year old with his first system so I think it would be good for me, it all got good ratings.
I can send pictures of my car if necessary.
So please, send me some help. Advise me on if there is a better system I could get for the same price range ($500-$600). Do I have the right amp kit, I have a soddering iron and lots of screwdrivers/wrenches. ANY advise for this little project of mine would be great. And i always say pictures are better than words, so if it isn't too much a pic ortwo would be great.
Thanks,
Nabeel Rana
EDIT: I was also wondering if there is a specific place to bring the power cable through from the battery to the inside of the car. I can only see one opening where there are a bunch of other wires coming in. Also as a side note, I'm putting the amp and subs in the trunk not sure if that changes anything but whatever.

RE: How do you remove stock CD Player
here are some directions to remove the head unit. the cd player is usually an accessory at the bottom near the cup holders. that requires more items to be removed including your center console etc.

RE: How do you remove stock CD Player
as for running the cable look at your fire wall there is usually 1-2 ruber gromets on the firewall. pop it out and cut a x in the middle if it and put it back in. keeping it in will stop the firewallfrom cuting into the wire.i have a eg (92-95) there is 1 about 6 inbelow and to the right of the battery tray.but im not sure on yours. also make sure you do not run your rca wires by your power cable. it will case it to make a weird noise like a constant humming and the closer it is the loader it gets. i usually run mine on opposite sides of the car. i belive your cd player just slides out
