Default How to determine exactly what engine..
where do I look to determine exactly which engine is in my 97 DX?

There is a flat plate just to the left of the header/heat shield on the front of the engine that tells your engine code. Most likely its D16Y7. The plate might be covered by oil and stuff, but you cant miss it.
