Guys, are we sure that the Civic has the transmitter already installed and all we need is the KEY FOB Remote?

ORIGINAL: 93Miata

Hopefully not in the same way as the Honda vs. Mitsu emblems in your sig...lol.

Blue turn signals? Any tickets yet? I used to have them in a 2000 Accord back in Minnesota, but got a ticket because a "civilian" vehicle cannot display red or blue lights on the front of the car...
I live in southern Cali and they are too busy to care. I only put them on hte list for that reason though.

I just want to clarify again, are you guys looking for replacement remotes or are you trying to install a keyless entry and same as me, thinking that all we need are Key FOB remotes?

I guess I just have to ask a Honda dealer about my 2002 LX. Just my luck it will not have the receiver pre-installed. EX and Si would have them, I suppose.

I think the 02 had factory keyless as an option, and according to ConsumerGuide.com, the LX got it as STANDARD equipment in 04. If you call your Honda dealerships parts department with your VIN number they can tell you if you have the receiver installed, then you can just add remotes easily to it.

I got the package in the mail today.

Programming was easy, took about 10 seconds. I can't believe a dealership would charge 1/2 hour of labor for a 10 second job. Thats a good way to lose customers.

Anyhow, the remote works great and when I went to put in an order for remote for the Odyssey I noticed I got free shipping, so I bought a 2nd remote for the Civic and a pair for the van. FINALLY I will have remotes that work and that I can use.

ThePartsYouNeed.com rocks!

Ok, got mine on ebay, the item came, looked brand new. Walked outside. Programmed first time in about 15 seconds. Works great, now problems. Happy Customer over here.

Good deal guys, I do not have the Receiver, so, aftermarket will probably do for me.
