Have A Honda Civic CoupeEX 1.6I VTEC.. And It Wont Let Me Rev Pass 6300 Rpm (in Gear And Not In Gear) Its like a rev-limiter kicks in.. I No These Cars Can Rev Over That Aswell Because My Friend Has The Every Same Car And His Revs To7500 without any problems... Soo I Was Wondering What Do You Think Is Causing This Problem..

PERSONALY.... if the computer wont let the car over rev... THAN THATS A SAFETY PROTOCOL that will be for the best of the motor!!!!!!!!
just because the motor CAN rev over the red line... doesnt mean it SHOULD!!!!!!!!!! or can for to long........ before throwing a rod right thru the front of the block.... then your left with THIS PAPER WEIGHT as cool as this right here....

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...orpuled-23.jpg

DO YOU REALY WANT THAT???????? leave the computer alone. unless the motor HAS BEEN upgraded to hold the higher RPM speed.....

find what motor you have in the car and then compare that number to this chart and see where your best power SHOULD be, plus its max SAFE RPM speed...

Oh look - it's a view port for the rods. Cover that up with some bullet-proof lexan and you could start the next new trend in Rice-Tuning - cuz ya know, being able to see the mechanicals is worth 3 horsepower for each 'viewport' you can make.

Toss in some polished accessories, glow-in-the-dark split-loom, a whale-dick intake, and you've got a 10-second car there. 8) (sorry, it's the Sudafed talking)

Nice pic of thrown rod damage, BTW. Really lets ya know how close to the edge of failure these engines are built for.

haha thanks for your interest man buti have sorted the problem now .. i dropped it off to my uncles garage he had a look at it when i came back (2 hours later) he told me that it was working properlly now.. soon as i drove it out of the garage i noticed the DIFFERENCE straight away.. phoned him up asked him what he had done and he simply told me "it had to much oil it was over the max lineand the oil pressure couldnt build for the vtec soo i drained some" .... i thought that sounded a bit strange but done the trick.

yup .. as weird as it sounds it worked LOL!.. im thinking of getting a exhuast for the car now but i heard if i get a 3" exhaust i would loose alot of low end torque which i dnt want to do (if anything i would like to add bhp and torque but i know from a exhaust you hardly get anything).. would a 2.25" inch apexiexhaust system be best for my car?

Yes, do not go with anything bigger than about 2.5"

2.25" is definitely your best bet. Especially if its n/a.
