Honda Civic 1993 cx Gas tank staps
Good day,
I just finished changing a lower ball joint on my Civic 1993 and after parking it all proud of myself I discovered two things hanging down under the car. After investigation I noticed that both of my gas tank straps have let go and are simply hanging down.
My car has only 81 000kms on it but now I am starting to get issues related to time and not usage. So over time the straps near the rear bolts degraded and have let go.
Having never changed gas tanks straps before I was wondering a few things: is the gas tank at risk without the straps right now? By this I mean it can't be the only things holding the tank?
Anyone ever done this that could give me a few pointers? What am I facing and any unknown?
Thank you for your time

Those two straps are THE only things holding the fuel tank. Your tank is still in place due to rubber hoses for fuel inlet, outlet, return lines and such.
I am not sure which part of strap that came off on your car. Front ends of strap get hooked on to body and back end have anchor bolts that go through the straps if I remember correctly.
