Hit A Curb Please Help!!
I hit a curb the other day and the damage was pretty serious. The wheel was pushed back to where it was about a half inch from rubbing against the rear wheel well on the passenger side. I took the car to my mechanic and he is saying I need a new drive shaft because it was bent, new lower control arm, new tie rods inner and outer and he has to weld the sway bar brackets and has to repair my rim because it was dented. He is saying the price for the parts is going to be about $800 and he is charging me 250 for labour so the final price is $1050 Canadian is this price about right? The car is a 1999 Civic Ex Manual Transmission. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

That sounds about right to me. I did the same thing about 4 years ago, hit a curb while flying through the air at about 60 mph. I had very similar damage to what you have, except my fender was destroyed(because the wheel went though it) and, amazingly enough, my invicible wheels were in perfect condition. with out my fender repaired and using used parts from another car the shop charged me $900 for everything. I probably could have done it cheaper by myself but I needed it done quick and I didnt know much about cars back then.
