well i had skunk2's throtle body and their intake manifold. apperantly it hasnt been registered by skunk2 to be used on a civic ex, only si. i am completely stock now excepet for myshort ram intake frominjen wich i had to buy so i can get that carb sticker i must have under my hood,and as for were i live is in good'ol cali so laws here might be realy harsh compare to others areas.

 

I had this same problem this weekend when i swapped manifolds on my civic. The problem for me was the throttle body gasket. I replaced it with a new one and it gave me an idle at 3000 and i had no vac leaks and throllte was good. Problem solved when i put back on the old throttle body gasket.

 

k guys found the problem... on my intake pipe i had a hose hooked up to prett y much nothing/vaccum. the problem was it is behind the sensor so im guessing it was readingpressure coming from filter but the extra hose gave it a different feel. all i did was take the hose off and add a cap. the other end was just a nipple on top of my intake manifold that is just a hollow port that dead ends on engine wall. my car idles at .700-1.5k now but i still have the problem in wich it idles up when i step on cluth, its not as bad but still very annoying....any clues? o as for timing i took it to a different mechanic and he said it was fine.

 

well i passed the referee testbut i still seem to have that idle problem when i hit the clutch. i guess i can ignore it for now, atleast till i put in all the aftermarket junk back in. this time im gonna put cam shaft&gear in along with valve springs, i have no valves at the moment tho. thx for all the tips, they did help, especialy that carb cleaner 1
