Hesitation from 2k to 4k? HELP!
#14
Okay, well I checked the distributor cap (looks good to me) and replaced the fuel filter yesterday. But I am still having the hesitation/roughness at steady speeds (above 2000rpm for example). UGH! When I am giving the car gas to increase speed, I have no hesitation per se, but only feel it when I am driving at a steady speed. What could this be? Fuel pump? Something to do with the throttle?
OH, and now that I have replaced the fuel filter, I don't SMELL GAS FUMES ANYMORE!
Is it time I take it to a HONDA dealer? I would prefer not to have to do that.

Okay, well it is still happening. Would a bad fuel pump cause the hesitation/misfiring when driving on the highway too or anywhere I am driving at a constant speed? One buddy says it could be the main relay, starter, bad fuel pump.

Okay, well now I replaced the Main Relay Switch and this fixed the problem with starting the car in the summer heat. Now I still have the hesitation/misfiring while driving. Does this sound like a distributor cap/rotor thing? I haven't replaced that in probably 10 years, so even though it looks good (TO ME AT LEAST), should I replace this part too?

if they're 10yrs old, I would replace the following: Cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and sparkplugs. Even if they work "ok" the fact remains that they are old and likely corroded and starting to wear or break down.
I had an issue with poor running similar to yours, and replacing those components cleared it up
