my vtec kicks in around 6,500 rpm, isnt it suppose to be kicking in around 4-5 rpm area? is there any way to fix this or adjust it?

I highly doubt that..... On dif engines vtec kicks in at different rpm's but usually around 5500. Unless you bought the car off of somebodywho chipped the ecu and changed vtec to engage later, which I highly doubt because usually people change it to kick in earlier. Why do you think that it crosses over at 6500?

ya i never heard of it kicking in so late... if its kicking in that late maybe your vtec solinoid is going bad...... just an idea..... i can hear and feel mine kick in around 4.5K rpms
i can feel it alot more in my 94 than i can my 99 due to the manual and automatic choking down the motors rpms....

motor?
So... are you still afraid to tell us what kind of engine you have?

I used to have a GSR & I'd always have to laugh when people talk about the 'vtec kicking in' at 6500. That was the secondary runners in the intake manifold opening up...

Has it got oil in it? sounds like a stupid question but one of my mates ran his dry once and then moaned that the vtec wouldnt kick in so i drove it and you wouldnt get anything to around 6500ish rpm then all of a sudden it would kick in and fly lol

But yeh check your oil
