help on exhuast manifolds

Default help on exhuast manifolds

just new to site and after a bit of help with the exhuast manifold on a honda civic 1999 model.

been told by garage that manifold is spilt and is to badly damaged to be repaired. Garage has quoted nearly £500 pund to fix.
can anyone advise how to replace this and were the best place and cheapest place is to get a replacement manifold.

appoligies if this has already been posted i have been able to find anything on this.

Some versions of that model have the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter combined as one piece, and it's an expensive part (about $500 US). If that's the type you have and that quote is for OEM parts and also includes new heat shields and both oxygen sensors new, it's not far out of line. Parts alone will cost hundreds of dollars here.

If you didn't have to worry about emissions you could put something together cheaply with parts from other models or aftermarket parts.
