im not sure on how to fix that one but someone might have a better idea, for now i would just make a sticky note and put it on your stearing wheel so you remember to shut it off..i had to do that when i first got a standerd car because i kept forgetting the e-brake on

A 94? I don't think you have one. My old '93 didn't have one.

Side note: even if you DO have an idiot alarm, it doesn't work when you only open the passenger door. Like when the driver's door is frozen shut and you have to crawl in and out through the passenger side. Now you know better. [:@]

Get a big old headlight switch and put it on your keychain.

um... if your battery dies after leaving the car for a few minutes then i would suggest getting a new battery(or get your alternator checked) cause i don't think that it is supposed to die that fast. even if you left your headlights on for 3 hours it should stil have enough juice to start it... trust me i have a 93 civic and it took me a long time to get use to not having flip up headlights, from my old corolla sr5

Even though my battery doesn't go dead, it sure is a pain in the butt when you forget that your lights are on.

try this..
