Hard Clunk On Shift ??? What is it ??
OK i purchased this 95 Civic 2 years ago with 88k on it , its a automatic and it shifts great BUT when i step on the gas to move fast it makes a hard clunk when it shifts ... It has been like this for 2 years and still doing it , but other then that it shifts fine ....
I have never owner a FWD car so i have no clue how it all work and im hoping its not the tranny b/c it does shift fine ....
Anyone have a clue what this might be ?????

Yes i did check the fluid and everything is all good !!!
I do not think its slipping , b/c it shifts fine , it just shifts hard while on the gas hard , if i drive easy it shifts fine and smooth....
No One Has Ever Had anything like this happen ???? Or has a clue what it might be ???

From your information, I classified your AT problem as a hard shift from 1st to 2nd (?). If correct, the symptom-cause chart (see pictures here and in my next post) suggests a problem with the throttle cable or 2nd clutch.

RE: Hard Clunk On Shift ??? What is it ??
Yes but it also does it from 2nd to 3rd & 3rd to 4th... BUT only while on the throttle hard !!
So what would be the best thing to do ??
Take it to the tranny shop an have them do a test on it ???
Do u think that would help find the problem ???
And i dont quite understand what the first pic was ?
What are the codes ???

Maybe you should initially focus on a cause that could possibly explain hard shifts in all gears, such as a too short adjusted throttle cable (see additional pictures). If you are handy, you may be able to adjust the throttle cable.
By the way, the top picture of my first post matches symptoms to numbers and letters. Look at the other pictures in both posts to know what the numbers and letters mean.
I don't really have a good explanation for the fact that hard shifting only occurs when hard on the throttle -- maybe the increased torque brings out the problem?
If your throttle cable adjustment is fine, then it's probably wise to have a tranny shop diagnose the problem. Before paying for repairs, however, you might consult with the forum on how to proceed.
I hope this helps.

have you checked all the motor mounts to make sure theyre not broken or worn real badly. that will cause it to clunk espesially going from reverse to foward and vice versa, or under hard acceleration.
