its a dark brown. Im sure it needs to be flushed. I'll go out at break check the smell. is there a smell i should be looking for?

hopefully but it might be to late... alot of people never change their trans fluid. it should be changed just like motor oil . but they only change it when it starts giving problems which is most of the time to late.

that would be my luck. i don't have much in this car so i don't mind fixing it. worse case scenerio, would it require a a total rebuild?

i kinda thought it might. on average what does a decent used auto transmission go for?

ok so i had an overheating problem and changed out the thermostat and decided i would try cleaning my IACV. To my suprise, my model doesnt seem to have one lol. I'm gussing it my timing. any suggestion otherwise?

Pretty damn sure you have an IACV. It's on the back side of the intake manifold.
