Default Front strut problems

Hey everyone, new to this site, but been on similar sites for my Toyota. I bought my '05 civic for a DD, since my Toyota is going from a nice stock SUV to a rock crawler. The civic has been awesome so far, but I am having a issue with the new struts I put in. I ordered a pretty nice set of struts from Autozone and put them in under a hour (I love how easy the Honda is to work on) and now they make a "clunk" when I hit a bump. I am guessing its the actual shock shaft on the strut hitting the top of the mount. But where did I go wrong? The nuts on top are tight. Any help would be awesome.

Chris
