Default Front mainshaft input bearing in trasmission

I replaced the clutch, both bearings, and pressure plate with a clutch kit for a noise that I thought was the throwout bearing. It turns out that the noise is more than likely the mainshaft input bearing. What all needs to be done to replace this bearing? Do I just need to split the case and take it to a shop with a press? I called a tranny shop and they said $250 for labor if I brought in the tranny! I will just do this myself.
