Engine stalls/cuts out on my 02 civic.

Engine stalls/cuts out on my 02 civic.
I have an 02 civic LX coupe with manual transmission with 67,000 miles. Sometimes when I shift the motor momentarily cuts out and then it seems to run okay again. I've replaced the spark plugs which were pretty fried but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I am new to these forums so what does no cel mean? How do you check theplug wires? I don't think the fuel filter has been changed for a while. Is that a complicated project or does it require taking itto a mechanic? Thanks for the quick reply and suggestionsfglaustin!

Fuel filter on 7th gens is inline, meaning it in the fuel tank and to change it you would need to take your entire tank out. I have 106k and i've neever changed mine nor heard of anyone having problems with it.

cel is that light on the dash that comes on when some things malfunction.
cel = check engine light.
plug wires are checked with an ohmmeter. they wires are to only have so many ohms per foot.
sounds like it -OH, let me ask - when was the last tune-up. if a long time, then best to do that first. no money is wasted since it would need that anyway
