Default engine problems: wtf is wrong?

First off, you'll have to excuse me for being ignorant about hondas, haha, I just bought my first one.

anyways, I have a 95 civic dx. I'm not certain, because I don't know where to look, but I believe I have a d16y8. I know it's not a b series for a fact.
the problem: when I bought the car, it ran great. The only problem was a little bit of white smoke when I gave it gas, hardly any at idle. three or four weeks of driving it and thats when the **** hit the fan. First off, the smoking became a little worse, noticeable at idle now. Now it's got to the point that the damn thing wont even start. before hand it started overheating after very limited driving. the temperature would rise to about normal operating temperature, then climb nonstop after about 5 minutes. occasionally it would go down, but inevitable went through the roof. I believe I have a blown headgasket, the other symptoms are bubbling in my resevoire, steam will come out from under my radiator caps from the heat. it leaks oil but it must be burning it off because it doesn't drip. I don't see any coolant leaking but it's constantly having to be refilled probably because of the steam? the part that confuses me the most is that my fan keeps blowing fuses. we ran power straight to it and it kicked on but I don't believe it works other than that.

I've replaced my thermostat. no luck.

ps. money is a serious factor, I'm only 18 and I already have too much **** I have to pay for. unless absolutely necessary taking it to a shop is out of the question.

Unfortunately, the head gasket is likely blown. Given that this caused the engine to overheat and that overheating can irreversibly damage an engine, your most economical option may be to replace the engine, if you can read up on the procedure and do it yourself.

I've been told that by many already, I'm well on my way to saving up for it I guess haha. but what could be causing the fan to blow fuses after no more than 20 mins of driving? it's already went through 3 or 4

If you can't find a short in any of the radiator fan wires, including those for the fan switch on the thermostat housing, then a bad fan motor is likely the culprit.
