Engine Oil Burns in less than a week
Hello everyone. I have a 2002 honda civic that burns or turn new oil completely black in less than one week. I started to notice this after replacing a new engine on it. It look like the new engine is bad, but I am trying to figure out how bad is it. I check all cylinder and the all have good compression, so rings may not be the problem. Maybe a valve seal or something. Anyone knows what could be the problem. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance....

Does the oil go away, or does it just turn black? Does it make oily smoke? Have someone follow you in another car to look carefully for smoke.
The engine may be dirty inside from the previous owner not changing the oil often enough. You can usually see this by taking the oil cap off and looking at the parts inside.

The previous owner told me that he removed the engine from a running wrecked civic. The engine had been stored for a while and it looked like some water had gone inside the valves as I was able to see some rust. The engine was hard to turn at the beginning, but I was able to turn it with some force. I was thinking that the engine was frozen, but it finally turn and started right on after installation. Of course, it made black smoke at the beginning, but it when away after like 3 mins. The compression is good in all cylinders, so I don't think there is any broken rings.....
