Default Emergency Brake

My Emergency Brake handle will not stay up. The button is stuck inside the handle so I am trying to remove the console that is surrounding the brake handle between the seats. I removed the 4 screws on the side but it still will not come out. Is there another hidden screw somewhere?

Based on the picture, it looks like only the four screws hold the console in. Now just slide it rearward and lift it up.

I got it off but there are 6 screws. Two was hiddend in the far back and I had to move the seats up front to expose it.

you tried the HOT soapy water yet? youd be suprised what alittle hot soapy water poured around the button and working it can free it right up...
ive had the coke mess problem several times... with my automatic shifter... and my old Ebrake on my crx
doesnt take to much sticky residue/dirt to make it HOLD FIRM. LMFAO
ive always just poured some hot soapy water all around it... worked the stuck part around.... poured more water around it afew times till it moved very freely...
