It is not #13 (CHANNEL, L. FR. DOOR RUN ) it is #1 or #3 (#3 is drivers side power 04725-S00-A01 REGULATOR SET, L. FR. DOOR and #1 is passengers side power 04720-S00-A01 REGULATOR SET, R. FR. DOOR (POWER). You can drill out the rivets and replace with bolts. I show the 1998 DX had manual (crank) windows, so it would be #10 and #5, unless you have an EX, which came with power windows standard and are the part#s I listed.

Default Window regulator replacement---

I actually looked into this recently for my '98 Civic EX. The dealer wanted several hundred dollars PER DOOR to swap out the regulators. That means over $600 for what another post described as an easy 45min. job! Apparently, I need to get into the auto repair business because they must be raking in the cash! I am about to check again because my problem has gotten worse, but last time I checked I believe the regulator assembly was WELL under $100 per door from local auto parts stores. The only real difficulty looks like it will be in dealing with the constrictive space where the assembly is installed. Other than that, just looks like a few bolts.

Gargoylz, you do realize that you are replying to a thread that is almost a year old. Anyway, you are correct in that the dealers are raking the cash for this job. As it was a simple one and I purchased my regulator from A1Auto for $60 with free shipping and no tax. The motor is attached by 3 bolts, but the actual channel is connected by 8 bolts and/or screws. I don't remember anymore.

The only bad part about buying aftermarket for me was that the auto feature does not work. But it works fine going up and down now. Mine's a 98 LX.
