As we all know our civics get great gas mileage but don't have enough gas capacity to last us more than about 5 hours or so for gas...I know that myself i like making great time and dont like stopping for gas...What i am wondering is if there is a way to daisy link a fuel cell to my fuel tank...Actually i know its possible but is it worth and extra 300 dollars for the extra fuel capacity? Thanks

 

thats... kinda one of those things you need to ask yourself... it seems like you would use it, but to YOU is it worth the Money AND TIME? (also weight, dont know what your running but if your looking at peak performance every pound helps right? )

 

i have done this in a car before i travel alot, it helped alot, i liked it, less times i had to stop to fill up. i would only recommend it for if you had a vehicle with its only purpose of traveling. it does add alot of weight to the car. my car was a mercedes turbo desiel so i had no problems hauling the extra weight but i could tell a difference and with honda's you can fell a big difference just from having 1 person in the car driving than having 4 people in the car while driving.

 

If i use a fuel cell...its about 24 lbs for a 20 gallon one...if gas is roughly 8 lbs per gallon then thats like and extra person..or about 180 lbs or so...I really don't notice though when i have more people in the car...my b16 seems to handle the extra weight...im sure if i had a stock D series then i would run into problems...anyways...How would i make it so i can use my stock fuel tank and a secondary fuel cell? i can't find any info on it.....thanks yall for your help...

 

I know that certain older trucks have 2 tanks and they have a switch in the cab that switches from one to another with a electronic valve. i guess if you are serious about this just do some research on that and that should point you in the right direction

 

Oh yea...i know what your talking about... Late 80s model F-150...but i have been searching for a couple days now and haven't found any info to help me...I know most people on here are alot better at researching than i am...

How did you get the fuel cell to work with the fuel tank... Give me some more info on how ya did it...

Hcf94CHB (11:20:49 AM): i just put a fuel cell in the trunk and ran a line from the bottom of the fuel cell to the top of the stock tank, so when i fill them up and drive as the bottom tank is getting used the top one drains down to the bottom one and keeps it full until there is no fuel left in the top one
