Distributor Rotor Removal

After looking at my rotor, I think I understand what he was referring to as a dust cover. I thought he meant a small clear plastic piece that fit into the rotor just over the screw head. What I believe he is talking about is a large black plastic piece that covers most of the inside area of the distributor. My above reply edited to remove my mis-informed statement.

the black plastic cover should pop out. if its at all like mine, depending on your distributor type, it should have two tabs that slide into place at the top and one tab that clicks in at the bottom. take it off to remove the rotor, i believe the igniter too. did you have to take off the coil to get a better view of it?

The dust cover will not pop off unless you already have the rotor off. It sits behind the rotor.
