Default Distributor rotor removal

I have a DX with a down shaft TB. I want to replace the distributor rotor and I know that there a screw to hold it in place, however the screw is stripped and it is hard for me to remove. Anybody have any ideas on what to use??

Have you tried another shaped screw driver, because larger drivers have different profiles that grab a little better depending on screw. If I remember better, I think I used a large screw driver to remove it. If that doesn't do it, try to notch the outside of the screw head with an angle grinder if you can break the dust shield off, then use a large flat screw driver. You need to be careful because you can't use a handheld blowback screwdriver or it will damage the shaft.

I have tried a larger screw driver and all it did was strip it even more. I mean if try something else, there might not be any top of the screw left. I am afraid to drill it out.

you'll probably have to end up tapping it out if you've destroyed the head completely. You might be able to notch the side of the screw head and get a hammer and tap to twist it off. If that doesn't work, make sure you have a good tap and die set.

that sucks
i just had the same problem
you will need a new rotor set screw from honda... only a couple bucks

drill the screw out with a drill bit smaller than the screw. eventually while drilling, the screw will become really loose and you can unscrew it little by little with a pair of needlenose pliers

just be careful not to use too big of a drill bit... you don't want the drill bit to touch the threads at all
