Default Distributor issues d16y8 swap

Okay, so I swapped a d16y8 out of 00 ex into my 94 civic cx (Canadian model).

Swap Info:

Ecu: p28
Used stock obd1 wiring harness converted engine from ob2b to obd1.

Dizzy: Y8 dizzy + dizzy adapter harness obd2b to obd1 purchased through rywire.com (8-pin single plug from dizzy to 2 plug wiring harness).

Swap went off without a hitch until we got to dizzy the dizzy is not getting spark it is cranking but not starting. Now when we use an LS non-vtec dizzy car runs and drive fine been using it for now. I also tried to use my cx dizzy which for those who didn't know Canada model cx's have d15b7 so dizzy and engine are the same as the Dx model. I read this is the way to go when it comes to y8 swap staying obd1. The cx dizzy however, does same thing cranks like it wants to start but wont not sure what the problem is. At the moment I am just using the ls dizzy because i need the car to go vroom vroom, but I really would like the swap done right and use the b7 dizzy or even my y8 (considering all the money for dizzy and adapter) Any suggestions would be awesome. Any further information needed please let me know would like to resolve this problem.

well the obd2 system uses the crank position sensor.
and the obd1 uses a camshaft position sensor thats in the dizzy.
you should have gotten a z6 dizzy. which comes from the 92-95 ex(american) si(american/canadian) sir(canadian)

also have you tried to test the coil?

Okay, so I did a lil test today. Opened y8 dizzy everything looked okay. So i bolted it up and still no start just crank and nothing. It started with plugs in wrong spot i believe 1 where 3 and 2 where 4 but it idled disgusting and i wasnt to sure so turned it off immediatly. Also, read z6 wont mount up right on y8 engine, getting one tonight either way just something i was told

yes the z6 bolts up to the y8 head. the difference between a non vtec dizzy and a vtec it the bolt up pattern. all top bolts are the same but the bottom 2 are different. any vtec dizzy (d15z1,d16z6,d16y8,d16y5) will fit on any vtec head(d15z1,d16z6,d16y8,d16y5).
but wont match up on the non vtec head.and vise versa.

all its saying is a vtec dizzy dont match up on a non vtec head, and a non vtec dizzy wont match up on a vtec head. unless you modify it like he did but i would suggest that.

a z6 dizzy will fit a y8 head, and a y8 dizzy will fit on a z6 head.

It literally wont bolt up the the bolting s are not in the right place and its slightly covering the holes its not the same shape housing as the y8 dizzy either luckily i know someone who needs it so its not like a waste of money.
