Sure... why not? (more information on your set-up, plans, available funds would be nice, too)

Decent platform, one of the best SOHC Honda engines to work with. What are your power goals? Will this car be used on the street, track, or both, etc?

What kind of suggestions do you want?

i wouldn't get your hopes up that high especially if you want to daily the car. If you plan on spending some serious money then go for it but think of this.

Cheap, Fast, Reliable

you can only pick two

He said he's rebuilding it and turbocharging it. 250-300 is an easily obtainable goal on a turbo Z6, the engine just needs to be built to withstand the power. Done right, it will be reliable. The OP never said anything about cheap.

well if money isn't really an issue and your not a strict sohc then get a b18b1. build and turbo it. if you still want vtec do an ls-vtec. gsr integra type r civic type r b16a. i'm not sure as to which head flows best. and i'd do a type r trans. i believe it's the shortest gears. do some research. build the ls (b18b1) block and have the head port and polished/upgrade retainers and valves and such. new vtec controller, so you can adjust when vtec kicks in (do 2 dyno runs. one immediate vtec engagement and one no vtec engagement. compare the 2 charts and set vtec for the rpm where the horsepower graphs meet [thanks for clearin that up hobo]). a shop near me will provide and build an ls bottom end (punch sleeve complete internal build). turbo it and everything. they get everything but motor head. $6700 dollars. then you can have The Shop in kingsport build the head of your choosing. you would be making huge power compared to weight of vehicle, roughly 500 whp, and it'd be very reliable. not the cheapest in the world but you said getting funds would be easy. hope this helps a little. if you need any further help or would like the address of The Shop or Dashboard send me a private message. oh and The Shop in Kingsport, TN does do SLIGHTLY better work.. but i dont know the prices. i will email them and see.

I didn't even answer your question. fail.

Yes. the z6 is a very good motor to build. is capable of pulling huge numbers if wanted. or relatively low reliable numbers (250-300 like you said earlier). yeah it'd be pretty fast but i'm a big fan of super high powered (compared to most vehicles) daily drives.

well i like the sohc, dont really know why just do i guess...well the worst part for me is living in canada,(im from Cali) i work quite a bit so getting there right now sadly not possible.. unless anyone knows a place in the greater vancouver area that i can go to.... problem with that is that i know these places over charge. I asked one place how much it would be to rebuild for now they told me 2500-3000>
