OK, I just shattered my heavy duty NAPA impact socket and it still won't budge. Is it left hand thread? Manual doesnt say. Any suggestions?

It's conventional right hand thread. Turn counterclockwise to loosen.

I would avoid using any heat -- could lead to additional problems.

I purchased this tool from Amazon to hold the crankshaft pulley steady while torquing the nut:

Got it! I welded a 2" nut on a 24" piece of bar stock for a pulley holder. A couple of 4' cheaters and it came right off. It couldnt of been much more than 400 FT. LBS. WTF?

Last guy overtightened it. It does need to be tight, but not that much.
